For a long time, we waited.
We assumed that someone — government, industry, a well-funded startup — would eventually solve this. That the growing difficulty of entering the property market, the increasing complexity of ownership structures, and the obvious failure of the coordination layer would eventually produce a response worth waiting for.
Some contenders looked promising. None delivered what was actually needed.
In the meantime, the headwinds got stronger. Property became harder to access, not easier. Ownership became more complex, not simpler. The gap between what institutional investors could access and what everyday Australians could access didn't narrow — it widened. And the professionals and structures that could have helped remained fragmented, uncoordinated, and largely invisible to the people who needed them most.
The decade it took to build OursYours wasn't hesitation. It was watching, and hoping, and eventually accepting that if it was going to exist, we were going to have to build it.
That frustration is the foundation of this platform. Not frustration as a feeling — frustration as a point of view. Australian people trying to own property deserve better infrastructure than a folder of PDFs and a group chat. They deserve access to the same structures, the same professional coordination, and the same governance that institutional investors have used for decades. Not a simplified version. Not a consumer-grade imitation. The actual thing, made accessible.
That's what OursYours is. Not a product we built because the market opportunity was attractive — though it is. A platform we built because we got tired of waiting for someone else to.
